Victoria Taillefer

Psychiatrist

Professional profile

A complete, clinically rigorous and human approach to psychiatry

Dr Victoria Taillefer is a psychiatrist with extensive experience in the comprehensive care of complex patients across hospital, community and private settings. Her clinical work is grounded in the integration of psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic models within an advanced biopsychosocial framework.

She has broad experience in severe mental illness, multidisciplinary care coordination and the development of clinical programmes designed to improve continuity of care. Her areas of particular interest include neurodevelopment and the impact of hormonal factors on women’s mental health.

As a bilingual psychiatrist, she offers a high level of clinical communication for international patients and families seeking private psychiatric care in Marbella, Estepona, Sotogrande and the Costa del Sol.

Clinical identity

A Legacy of Medical Commitment and Clinical Excellence

I was born in Málaga and raised in Marbella, a city I call home and where I now have the privilege of practising my vocation. I belong to a family with a deep-rooted medical tradition; my grandmother was one of the first female doctors in Andalusia, and my mother, a renowned dermatologist with an extensive career in our city, has been my greatest inspiration.

From them, I learned that medicine is not merely a science, but a form of human accompaniment. After training in Madrid and Guadalajara, I have returned to my roots to offer professional, compassionate and discreet mental health care across the Costa del Sol.

I am a Consultant Psychiatrist, having trained at Guadalajara University Hospital through years of rigorous clinical demand. My passion for understanding the human mind led me to specialise in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the prestigious Hospital Niño Jesús in Madrid, a national reference centre.

Specialist training

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

At Hospital Niño Jesús in Madrid, she deepened her expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of Neurodevelopmental Disorders, including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, Eating Disorders and Early Psychosis.

Therapeutic integration

Third-Generation Therapies

Her Master’s Degree in Third-Generation Therapies allows her to integrate advanced psychopharmacology with specialised psychotherapeutic interventions, including ACT, DBT, mindfulness-based approaches and compassion-focused clinical work.

Clinical approach

Biopsychosocial Psychiatry

My approach is defined by an advanced biopsychosocial framework. I do not merely treat symptoms; I accompany people.

During my tenure as a unit coordinator in acute inpatient wards, I pioneered healthy nutrition programmes, understanding that metabolic health and nutrition directly influence recovery from mental illness.

I consider multidisciplinary coordination with families, schools and other specialists vital to ensuring a robust and lasting recovery process, especially for children and adolescents.

Private practice

Clínica Aguanell, Marbella

Today, I run my private practice at Clínica Aguanell in Marbella, sharing space and values with my mother. I have designed this seaside setting to be a space of safety, peace and absolute trust.

As a bilingual professional, I offer consultations in both Spanish and English, catering to the international community of Marbella, Estepona and Sotogrande seeking cutting-edge psychiatry with a deeply human touch.

It would be a privilege to embark on a journey together where mental health care and our body’s biological balance are treated in tandem, providing you with the necessary tools to achieve a fuller, healthier and more balanced life.
